Does anyone else feel that with the addition of tameable creatures Minecraft is going to change course a bit. First it's wolves, but what next? Maybe we will be able to have our pets battle each other pokemon style. That would be cool.

Time to build a pet barn.

They do work in SMP, if the owner is attacked, the wolf will attack the attacker. I dont know if wolfs will attack the other wolf if they attack the owner.

I know about Mo' Creatures and their tamable mobs and rideable horses and the pegasus. There is also a mod out that lets you tame monsters and set them on your friends or keep them as pets. You can tame a creeper and set it to follow you around peacefully. I was referring more to the official stuff Notch adds to minecraft. Wolves attacking players are not exactly what I was referring to. I was thinking more of having your wolves attack another players wolves to KO status for fun matches.

The problem is to make a server that runs mo creatures. And all of the clients also have to install the mod aswell if I remember exact.

Yes, you have to mod the client to use it. I will not install anything mod that requires a modified client.
